Going to Korea for vacation

Future trips in Korean — 다음 주에 휴가예요 (I'm on vacation next week) — with future plans.

Conversation

  1. Bolin Bolin

    아, 맞다! 밥 씨, 저 다음 주에 휴가예요.

A, matda! Bap ssi, jeo daeum jue hyugayeyo.

Oh, right! Bob, I'm on vacation next week.

Tip: <아, 맞다!> = "Ah, right!" (expression usually used when we just remembered something) <다음 주> = next week <휴가> = leave, vacation, day off

  2. Bob Bob

    그래요? 어디 가세요?

    Geuraeyo? Eodi gaseyo?

Are you? Where are you going?

Tip: <어디> = where <가세요> = verb "to go" (in politeness conjugation <=> 가요 in casual conjugation)

  3. Bolin Bolin

    한국에 여행하러 가요.

    Hanguge yeohaenghareo gayo.

I'm going to travel to Korea.

Tip: <한국> = Korea [Note] Location particle 에 is used to describe where someone or something exists without any action, but the verb 가다 (to go) uses this particle exceptionally. <여행하러 가요> = verb "to go to trip" [Note] Verb stem + -러 가요 (to go) expresses the purpose of going

  4. Bob Bob

우와~ 한국이요? 볼린 씨, 너무 부러워요!

Uwa~ Hangugiyo? Bollin ssi, neomu bureowoyo!

Wow! Korea? Mr. Bolin, I'm so jealous!

Tip: <우와> = "Wow" <너무> = so much, too <부러워요> = verb "to envy", adjective "to be envious/jealous" (in present tense)
