Common questions

Quick answers about this lesson's grammar and vocabulary.

Sous vs sur in French?

Sous = under. Sur = on/over. Sous la table (under the table), sur la table (on the table).

Parce que vs car?

Both mean 'because'. Parce que answers a 'why' question or starts a sentence. Car is more written/formal, doesn't start a sentence.

What does trop bas mean?

'Too low'. Trop = too. Bas = low. Pas assez = not enough. La chaise est trop basse = 'the chair is too low'.
